Reston Business Sold Booze To Underage Police Cadet: Police

Police recently conducted business compliance checks at 11 businesses, and one failed the test.

RESTON, VA -- Police cited an employee at one Reston business for completing a sale of alcohol to an underage police cadet.

Officers from the Reston Neighborhood Patrol Unit and Traffic Safety Services Unit conducted business compliance checks at 11 businesses in the Reston District, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

Ten businesses passed the test and didn't sell alcohol to the underage cadet sent in to test them, but one did, leading to a citation.

Police did not identify the business in question.

An employee who completes a sale of alcohol to a minor puts the business at risk of a $2,000 fine for the first offense, according to one Virginia law office.
