How to Generate Traffic on Blogspot Blogger

Your Blogger blog features interesting content on a topic that you know and care about. You've spent hours selecting the perfect theme, background and font color. When you check your blog to see how many followers it has, though, you see very few, if any, visitors. When you first make your blog, generating traffic is one of your biggest challenges. Once you overcome this hurdle, your blog gains exposure and attracts regular readers.

Write Meaningful Content

  1. Steady traffic to your Blogger blog relies almost completely on the content you write. If you write a blog about new movies, for example, always write the most interesting, relevant content that you can that pertains to that topic. Give readers a reason to come back to the blog. If initial readers enjoy the blog, they may link to it or tell others to visit. If, on the other hand, readers feel that your blog lacks interesting content, they are unlikely to return. Readers also dislike blogs with too many ads or blogs that seem to exist solely for advertising purposes.

Have an Attractive Blog Design

  1. In the blogging world, an attractive blog goes a long way toward generating traffic. Think about the design, colors and images that would most appeal to readers of your blog. If your intended audience is young adults, for instance, try using bold, vibrant colors. Add pictures to as many posts as possible. Images that you photographed or created yourself lend an air of authenticity to your posts. Pictures work especially well with instructional-type posts. For example, if you post a complicated recipe, adding pictures makes the process easier to understand for your readers.

Promote Your Blog

  1. Almost no one will find your Blogger blog if you do not promote it yourself. When you initially set up your blog, you probably won't be able to find it on most search engines even if you search for it by name. To promote your blog, leave a link to it whenever you post a comment to an article or on a forum. Visit and comment on other people's blogs that have a topic similar to yours. Tell everyone you know about your blog and ask them to share the URL with people they know. If your blog is professional or business-related, put the URL on your business cards or other literature related to your business.

Rely on the "Next Blog" Button

  1. One feature designed to help you get new traffic to your blog is the "Next Blog" button. When a reader views another Blogger blog, this button appears at the top of the page. Clicking it leads the reader to a new, randomly chosen blog. If you post to and update your blog frequently, you are more likely to get traffic from the "Next Blog" button. Try to add new content daily, or even several times per day, to get more traffic this way.
