Historic estate agent merges with counterpart

Two estate agent and chartered surveyor companies on the Welsh border have merged to create a new 60-strong organisation.

Morris, Marshall and Poole, which was established in 1862, has merged with Norman Lloyd, both of which operate across mid Wales and Shropshire.

The merged businesses will be named Morris Marshall and Poole with Norman Lloyd, specialising in residential, commercial and agricultural property and land services throughout Powys, Shropshire, Ceredigion and south Gwynedd.

Norman Lloyd offices in Newtown, Welshpool and Llanidloes will transfer to the existing MMP offices in these three towns. Norman Lloyd's Bishop’s Castle office will become part of the MMP network, with offices at Llanidloes, Newtown, Welshpool, Aberystwyth, Oswestry, Machynlleth, Rhayader and Tywyn and a presence in Aberdyfi.

The merger also includes Welshpool Livestock Sales.

Tony Evans, partner at MMP, said: "The expanded team allows the merged business to specialise in many parts of our business.

"This merger will allow our Welshpool Livestock Sales customers to benefit from our presence on site and we will be available to assist them from this base on market days and will be easily available from this new office base during the rest of the week."

David Jones, partner at Norman Lloyd, said: "MMP and Norman Lloyd are two well-established and respected business in the area with obvious synergies. By integrating the businesses, we will be adding to the benefits we can offer our existing clients, as well as future customers.

"The merger of the two firms will expand the partnership and staff levels. Marketing resources online will cover all of the major portals including Rightmove, Zoopla, Prime Location and On the Market."
