New Milford man indicted on drug charges
HACKENSACK — A New Milford man who allegedly maintained a marijuana farm in his home has been indicted on drug offenses.
The charges stem from a January raid on Victor Collado’s house, where police reportedly uncovered 46 marijuana plants of different sizes in a temperature-controlled setting, among other paraphernalia.
A Bergen County grand jury on Thursday formally charged Collado in a seven-count indictment. The charges include maintaining a facility for marijuana manufacturing, distributing marijuana plants and distribution of marijuana over an ounce.

Police were initially called to Collado’s River Road home for a welfare check on a possible suicidal party. While inside, police reportedly followed the smell of marijuana to the basement, where they found Collado with marijuana placed on the table next to him.
Collado, 48, allegedly admitted to being high and led police upstairs to the marijuana stash in his bedroom. Aside from the plants, authorities also uncovered numerous packaged bags of marijuana, candies with marijuana wax, liquid THC, suspected cocaine, steroids and materials used to grow and distribute marijuana.
Collado is due in Superior Court on April 1 for a post-indictment arraignment.
