Elementary, my dear Watson! Seems like we have a Sherlock Holmes fan in the likes of country singer Hunter Hayes.

While making new music for the next step in his career, Hayes has also gotten in touch with his television side as a devoted Netflix fan. His ideal day off involves a whole lot of binging with his girlfriend, and that means he has plenty of time to catch up on all of his favorites and even a few new series.

While he says he is just getting into the quirky ways of Dr. Gregory House on the clever medical dramedy, it’s his detective spirit that sucked him into the British drama, Sherlock. And Hayes is not one to hide his feelings about the shining star of the show, Benedict Cumberbatch.

“We were just watching Sherlock with Benedict [Cumberbatch] and I’m a huge fan of him and that show. Not gonna lie. I freaked out because we were taping the hologram thing for Kimmel and Benedict was there the same day and he walked right by me and I didn’t know what to say. Legitimately freaked out,” Hayes admitted to Sounds Like Nashville. “But she was like, ‘I’d bet you’d like House,’ and I’m hooked. I’m totally hooked. I’m like three seasons in, I think? That’s like my guilty pleasure. That’s our daily thing. Just hang out, and it’s a chill time.”

Wonder what Hayes will find next in his queue, but for now, he’s got music to focus on with the hopes of releasing a new album within the next year.
