BHOPAL: Swine flu scared continued in the state capital with two more deaths being reported here on Wednesday. 17 suspected patients were reported to health department on Wednesday.
According to officials, two deaths were reported from Hamidia hospital. One victim was 35-year-old female from Karond. She was detected positive for swine flu on January 31. She died on Wednesday morning.
Second victim was a 40-year-old victim, with bilateral pneumonia. She was referred from BMHRC. Her swap samples were sent to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) laboratory Jabalpur.
Meanwhile, office of the chief medical and health officer (CMHO) Bhopal confirmed that 12 swap samples were sent to Jabalpur on Tuesday and three tested positive. According to a union government report, 17 people have died due to swine flu in Madhya Pradesh in January. However, with state government continuing to gag any swine flu data being released in public, estimates put the figure of deaths in Bhopal at 7 this year, which as many as three dozen have tested positive for the deadly influenza.
