Old Southern

Old Southern BBQ Smokehouse announced plans this week to open a fifth location in Arden Hills on I-694 and Lexington. Old Southern was founded by Dave Anderson of "Famous Dave's."

Old Southern currently has locations in Hudson (WI), Rice Lake (WI), Saint Paul, and Minneapolis.

Brookstone Stores

Brookstone has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and plans to close all of its remaining mall locations, including two in the Twin Cities.

Kendra Scott

Fashion and lifestyle brand Kendra Scott announced the opening of their first Minnesota store location at Mall of America. The retail space will be located on level one, south and is expected to open late 2018.

Dunkin Donuts

Dunkin Donuts plans to open a new locatin in Richfield on Penn Avenue late October or early November.

Target

The Cedar Point Target near Highway 77 and Highway 62 is undergoing a multi-million dollar interior remodel.

Lunds & Byerlys

This fall, Lunds & Byerlys plans to open a new store in White Bear Lake, the Pioneer Press reported.

Morphe

Morphe nnounced its retail location at Mall of America planned for fall 2018. The store is 6,000 square feet, the largest Morphe store to date. It will also be the first location in the Midwest.

Morphe — which began online before moving into brick-and-mortar locations — sells a variety of brushes and palettes, including "influencer collaborations" such as its Jaclyn Hill eyeshadow palette

Plans For Former Minnesota Vikings HQ Released

Since March, the Minnesota Vikings' former practice facility in Eden Prairie has sat vacant. On Wednesday, the future of the decades-old facility was revealed.

Minnesota-based health club chain Life Time Fitness is set to launch an all-new concept, "Life Time Sport," at Winter Park in Eden Prairie.

Vikings Owners Plan Luxury Hotel For Eagan: Report

The Wilf family, which owns the Minnesota Vikings, is planning a luxury hotel and conference center on the team's 200-acre property in Eagan. The four-star hotel would have a Scandinavian themed.

The Wilfs submitted an application to the city to build a 320-room hotel and 18,000-square-foot conference center, Kevin Warren, chief operating officer of the Vikings and MV Eagan Ventures, told the Star Tribune.

Kate Spade New York

Kate Spade New York joins a more than 100 stores at Eagan's growing outlet center.

Eagan Aldi

Aldi, the Germany-based discount supermarket chain, opened its first Eagan store back in June as part of a $3.4 billion investment to expand to 2,500 stores nationwide by the end of 2022.

Minneapolis Aldi

Aldi has confirmed plans to open a store in south Minneapolis next spring. The new grocery store will be located in Rex 26, a five-story building currently under construction at 26th Street and Lyndale Avenue South.

Rosemount Aldi

ALDI will welcomed shoppers back to its renovated Rosemount store during a grand opening celebration on Thursday, Aug. 2.

Amazon

It's not a new headquarters, but Amazon has announced plans to expand its Minneapolis Tech Hub and create 200 high-tech jobs in fields including transportation technology and cloud computing.

Hy-Vee

Hy-Vee Supermarket stores are becoming increasingly popular.

The company plans to open stores in Robbinsdale and Plymouth this fall. A location for Spring Lake Park was approved by the city council in July.

Hy-Vee currently has plans for a location in Blaine, according to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Business Journal.

It's also interested in Maple Grove and Farmington, the Pioneer Press reported.

Last year, the company pulled back from plans to build a store in White Bear Lake on Centerville Road. The site is now owned by Lunds & Byerlys.

Cub Foods

With news in July that United Natural Foods is buying Supervalu for $2.9 billion, business analysts expect Minnesota's Cub Foods stores to get new owners in the near future. It's speculated that Hy-Vee could take over a few former Cub stores.

Costco

Costco is planning its ninth Twin Cities location for a vacant office property in Eagan. On Aug. 28, the Eagan Advisory Planning Commission approved a 161,000-square-foot store at 995 Blue Gentian Road.

The plans include a retail store with a tire center, a liquor store and a gas station, according to SunThisWeek.

Construction on the new Costco will begin once it receives final approval. The store is slated to open fall 2019, Finance and Commerce reported.

Costco currently has locations in Minneapolis, St. Louis Park, Maple Grove, Eden Prairie, Maplewood, Woodbury, Coon Rapids, Burnsville.
