SC Murder Suspect Caught In Charlotte After Police Chase: Report

Charlotte police apprehended Marques Heath in south Charlotte. Heath is a suspect in a murder committed Tuesday in Rock Hill.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A murder suspect who authorities said was connected to a triple shooting in Rock Hill, South Carolina Tuesday morning was apprehended in south Charlotte Tuesday.

According to York County Sheriff’s Office, Marques Quantez Heath, 35, was taken into custody by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Tuesday afternoon. Earlier in the day, YCSO named Heath as a suspect wanted for a murder and two attempted murders in Rock Hill in a shooting spree that prompted eight schools in the city to go into lockdown.

“Marques Heath should be considered armed and dangerous,” YCSO said.

Heath was apprehended after a brief chase along South Boulevard, WSOC reported.
