Gold Rush star Parker Schnabel won’t be giving up gold mining anytime soon

The cult reality show returns to UK screens tonight

GOLD Rush star Parker Schnabel returns to British screens tonight - and fans can expect a VERY emotional journey.

Parker, 25, has starred in the past five series of the show, which follows the ups-and-downs of a group of miners as they dig deep in the dirt looking for gold.

But until he's ready to speak more about the new show, fans can look forward to seeing what the young digger has been up to since series six.

Tonight marks the return of Tony Beets, Todd and Parker, and they mean business.

They aim to make the most claims ever mined in one season - but it's not without rivalries.

This series sees Tony and Parker continue to go head to head for the Klondike crown, while Todd has moved his entire crew to a new territory.

While Tony is fretting about his second dredge, and Todd is focusing on his home state of Oregon, this series Parker takes centre stage.

However, viewers will see tough scenes as he reels from the loss of his mentor and grandfather, Grandpa John.

Many questions will be raised, including whether he will be able to overcome his grief to carry on the family gold mining legacy, and if he can bring his crew together like he’s failed in the past?

Hailing from Alaska, Parker has spent his whole life looking for gold, inspired by his grandfather.

He's reported to have made millions from his intense labours, but he told The Sun online that he'll never sit behind a desk - not when he gets to spend every day looking at nature.

This series will also see him buying North America’s largest wash plant as he carries on his grandfather's legacy.

The new season of GOLD RUSH will premiere exclusively in the UK on Discovery Channel, 9pm, Tuesday 18th October (Sky 520, Virgin 250, BT TV 322)
