Location: Southampton, New York Price: $5.85 million

If you fancy sunflowers, this roomy sun-drenched home in the Hamptons will certainly catch your eye.

"The house has a theme—it’s covered with sunflowers, inside and out," said listing agent Andrea Ackerman. "Everything is sunflowers, even the andirons in the fireplace have sunflowers."

The shingle-style house on Narrow Lane is called Girasole, which is Italian for sunflower. It was built in 1985.

"It has a pool and a tennis court and it’s south of the highway (Montauk Highway), in Southampton Village," Ms. Ackerman said. "It also has a first-floor master."

The house is owned by Henry Buhl, a philanthropist, retired banker and sunflower lover, she said.

Some of the furnishings and artwork are also for sale, Ms. Ackerman said. "The owner is moving to a condo to simplify his life and he just doesn’t have room for everything."

Architectural details include cathedral ceilings, wide-planked wood floors, and exposed ceiling beams. The front door is a giant sunflower, hand-carved out of oak.

"There is a fireplace in the kitchen, by the breakfast area, and there is also a formal dining room," Ms. Ackerman said.

"This house predates zoning," she added. "You probably could not get a tennis court on this property again, which makes it more valuable."
