Crash in Town of Mohawk kills 18 year old, driver hospitalized

TOWN OF MOHAWK, NY (WRGB) - State Police say an 18 year old was hospitalized and another teen is dead after an early morning crash in Montgomery County.

Police say the 1996 Honda, driven by Kristen Barry, 18 of Fort Johnson left the road on Van Antwerp Road and struck a large rock. Her passenger, 18 year old Nakiyta Passino was pronounced dead at the scene.

Barry suffered a compound leg fracture and complained of neck and body pain and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say neither was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
