Winning Mega Millions Ticket Sold In California

One ticket sold in the Golden State matched five of the six numbers, California Lottery officials said.

MORGAN HILL, CA -- At least one winning Mega Millions ticket was sold in California, lottery officials announced Friday. Although the winning ticket didn't hit the whopping $1 billion jackpot, it did score five of the six numbers, making the ticket valued at $3.5 million.

The winning numbers from the record-breaking jackpot are: 15, 23, 53, 65 and 70. The gold Mega ball is 7. The Megaplier is 2.

NBC Bay Area reported the winner of the ticket purchased in Morgan Hill went into an AM/PM gas station and scanned his ticket to learn he matched five of the six numbers.

"The employee said the man didn't want to claim the prize yet and left the store, saying he will claim the ticket with California Lottery," NBC reported.

Lottery officials said if no one hit the jackpot Friday night, it will increase to $1.6 billion Tuesday. Although you won't be as rich as Amazon's Jeff Bezos if you hit the jackpot, you could have more dough than Taylor Swift. Fantasize about the good life here.
