£2.4m expansion of Moran's Retail to create 30 jobs

North west retail group Moran's has announced the recruitment of 30 additional staff in Co Londonderry as part of a £2.4m expansion.

The company is in the process of redeveloping all three of its stores in Derry, Coleraine and Ballykelly.

Moran's Retail has already demolished its Centra store on the Strand Road in Derry, with a new modern premises due to open in the next few weeks.

Upgrades are also being carried out at its Centra in Coleraine and SuperValu in Ballykelly.

Moran's Retail will also add new products and services.

The new recruitment drive is expected to bring the company's total workforce up to 150 across its retail and catering operations.

Managing director John Moran said the new roles will range from general manager to store and deli assistants, chefs and cooks to butchers and post office assistants, and delivery drivers to office administration posts.

"These are very exciting times for Moran's Retail and we are seeking 30 of the best to join us on our journey," he said.

"Providing great working environments for our people has been central to our commitment to investing heavily in our family business.

"Our dedicated employees are the best and some have been part of the team for over 20 years.
