1. Cirque Ma’Ceo at Big Cat Habitat

Sarasota native Olissio Zoppe is leading his national-touring Cirque Ma’Ceo equestrian show in his hometown for the first time with part of the proceeds going to help raise funds for his lifelong friend Clayton Rosaire’s nonprofit Big Cat Habitat & Gulf Coast Sanctuary. The show features the Zoppes’ signature bareback riding, Cossack-style trick riding and dressage; with acrobats, aeralists and jugglers performing atop and alongside the moving horses. 2. Mr. Swindle’s Traveling Peculiarium

The Great Mr. Swindle’s Traveling Peculiarium and Drink-Ory Garden will perform under the boutique Big Top Tent starting today in the troupe’s home city of Englewood. “When you sit inside the Peculiarium you can feel yourself being delivered rear-ward in time to a turn-of-the-century traveling spectacle” said Allison Blei, the show’s co-producer and co-writer, in a statement. “It’s basically a tongue-in-cheek, Barnum-esque mini-melodrama filled with fabulous feats and ridiculous remedies to cure the giggle-box in everyone.” Today through Jan. 20; Under the Boutique Big Top, 349 W. 3. Sarasota Fine Art Festival

The seventh annual Sarasota Winter Fine Art Festival will feature more than 130 local, regional and national artisans showcasing their work. All the artisans are present as they transform downtown Sarasota’s Gulfstream Avenue into an outdoor gallery of painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, glass, ceramics, fiber and wearable art, mixed media, metalwork, graphics, woodworking and more. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; 33 S. 4. Jeff Dye at McCurdy’s

5. SFF presents ‘The Maltese Falcon’

A critical and commercial success upon release in 1941, “The Maltese Falcon” remains the quintessential private eye film noir with Humphrey Bogart starring as Sam Spade in this classic directed by his drinking buddy John Huston.
