Comedian Bruce Bruce brings adult comedy without the swear words to Las Vegas

Share

Stand-up comic and Popeye’s Chicken & Biscuits spokesperson Bruce Bruce makes his return to Las Vegas on Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9, when he plays the Suncoast Showroom, a regular stop when he’s in Las Vegas.

The larger-than-life comedian is known for his improv skills, and although his comedy is best described as adult, he prides himself on not using vulgarity for his laughs.

Bruce Bruce, whose real name is Bruce Church, first performed at the Comedy Act Theater in his native Atlanta, and when BET’s “Coast to Coast” came to town searching for new talent, Bruce auditioned at every club where the show was holding auditions. He ended up appearing on the show three times.

His appearances include a 1993 performance on HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam,” followed by “Showtime at the Apollo,” hosted by Steve Harvey. He hosted “BET’s Comic View” for two seasons, followed by a role as two-time host of “Coming to the Stage.”

Bruce starred in his own “Comedy Central Presents” special, and released a 2003 one-hour comedy special DVD “Bruce Bruce Live,” 2011 Showtime special “Bruce Bruce: Losin’ It,” and his most recent DVD release, “Losin’ It: Live from Boston.”

He’s also appeared in movies such as “Hair Show” starring Mo‘Nique, and “The Wash” starring Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. Sharp-eyed music fans have spotted him in music videos with Ludacris, the Ying Yang Twins, Quad City DJ’s and Outkast.

Tickets are $15.95.
