NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WJAR) — State and local police responded Saturday to a report of a man barricaded inside a home in North Attleborough.
Investigators said a man in his 70s was distraught and that he suggested he might harm himself.
State police said their STOP Team and crisis negotiator were at the scene on Robert V. Beaupre Circle.
The man surrendered at about 6:40 p.m. and a gun in his possession was secured by North Attleborough police. The man was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The man's name was not immediately released.
