STRAWBERRY RESERVOIR — An American Fork man was killed and two others were injured after a crash involving a car and a semitruck on U.S. Highway 40 Saturday evening, authorities said.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers said 25-year-old Gaje Combs died from injuries in the crash.
Emergency crews responded to a report of a crash on the highway near Strawberry Reservoir about 7:40 p.m. Troopers said a Kenworth semitruck hauling two tank trailers was traveling east on U.S. 40 when a Honda Accord attempted a left turn from Strawberry Road onto U.S. 40. The truck then collided with the driver-side door of the Accord.
Combs, who was driving the Accord, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. A passenger in the Accord was flown by medical helicopter to Utah Valley Hospital in Provo. A man driving the semitruck was also transported by ambulance to Heber Valley Hospital in Heber City, officials added. Their conditions weren’t immediately released.
Other details about the crash were not released. The crash remains under investigation.
