Go-Go pick up Thomas Bryant, Chasson Randle in separate transactions

NBA: Washington Wizards-Media Day Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The Wizards announced on Thursday that they have assigned Thomas Bryant to the Capital City Go-Go. The Go-Go also announced they re-acquired Chasson Randle after he cleared waivers from the Wizards on Monday.

Bryant has only played 27 minutes over five games that were all out of reach by the time Scott Brooks put him in the game. He’ll get a chance to get some meaningful time on Friday as the Go-Go face the Bucks’ G-League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd. While he is with the Go-Go, he will continue to get his NBA paycheck and count toward the Wizards’ roster.

Chasson Randle will join Bryant in Wisconsin after he clearing waivers from the Wizards on Thursday. Even though Washington waived him, the Go-Go still hold his G-League rights so the Wizards can keep him in their ecosystem since no one claimed him off waivers.

Randle’s availability will likely come in handy since the Wizards will need to add a 14th player within the next two weeks to get back up to the league-mandated roster minimum from...waiving Randle. However, they could also explore calling up Lavoy Allen, Chris Chiozza, or converting one of their two-way players—Devin Robinson or Jordan McRae—into a full-time NBA player, depending on their roster needs.
