A west Michigan man who pleaded guilty to trying to rob a customer of an Adrian car wash on Aug. 25 received a 38-month to five-year prison term in Lenawee County Circuit Court on Dec. 28.

Bruce Earl Dickerson, 43, of St. Louis was given credit for 118 days he spent in jail following the failed robbery attempt. Adrian police reported Dickerson and another man had been drinking heavily before Dickerson demanded money from a customer at Suzie Q’s Car Wash on West Maumee Street. The victim told police Dickerson ran when he confronted him. Police found Dickerson lying in a driveway where he fell while trying to run away.

Dickerson pleaded guilty to attempted unarmed robbery on Nov. 23. A fifth-offense habitual offender charge was dismissed.
