'It's just a tragedy': Driver goes to prison for DUI crash that killed 66-year-old woman

A Dauphin County judge Friday ordered a Lykens man to spend 3 to 6 years in state prison for causing a fatal alcohol-related accident.

Judge Deborah E. Curcillo imposed that penalty a month after Scott William Kline II, 33, pleaded guilty to charges including homicide by vehicle while DUI, involuntary manslaughter, speeding and reckless driving.

Police said Kline was intoxicated when he drove his vehicle into the path of a car driven by Bonita Reiner, 66, of Williamstown. Reiner died instantly during the head-on collision that occurred on Route 209 in Williams Township just before midnight on Dec. 19.

"It's just a tragedy," Chief Deputy District Attorney Michael Sprow said after the sentencing hearing.
