EDMONTON, Alberta -- Famed rock icon Meat Loaf collapsed mid-concert while performing a show in Edmonton, Canada on Thursday.

Michael Aday, 68, better known by his stage name Meat Loaf, was performing at Edmonton's Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.

Video captured the moment Meat Loaf fell to the stage while performing "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)."

Emergency personnel could be seen running to Meat Loaf's aid. He was later rushed to the hospital.

His condition was not known at this time.

Meat Loaf had canceled two other shows in the past week, one on Saturday in Regina on Saturday and one in Calgary on Tuesday.

This was not the first time Meat Loaf collapsed on stage. In 2011, he collapsed at a concert in Pittsburgh. After medics ran to his aid, he got back up and finished the show.

In 2003, Meat Loaf collapsed while playing a concert in London and was taken to the hospital.

Meat Loaf said he suffered from asthma and Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, a medical condition that causes an irregular heartbeat.

His album "Bat Out of Hell" released in 1977 sold more than 40 million copies, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time.

Meat Loaf has also appeared in several films, including "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and "Fight Club."
