Hibbett Sports Inc. (HIBB) reported third quarter EPS of $0.37 Friday morning, down from $0.66 in the prior year period. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.22.
Full year 2018 EPS is now expected to be between $1.42 and $1.50, up from prior guidance of $1.25 to $1.35. Analysts are expecting EPS of $1.31.
Hibbett Sports gapped open sharply higher Friday, but pared its gains during the first hour of trade. The stock ended the day higher by 2.25 at $17.10 on above average volume. Hibbett Sports broke out of a trading range at the lows of the year and set a 4-month high.
