Mavs star Luka Doncic ties single-season triple-double record set by Jason Kidd

Doncic recorded his ninth triple-double of the season against the Warriors on Saturday.

Another game, another Luka Doncic record.

In the third quarter of the Mavericks’ 141-121 win against the Warriors on Saturday, Doncic recorded his 10th assist of the game to give him his ninth triple-double of the season. That ties the franchise single-season mark set by Jason Kidd in the 1995-96 season. Doncic finished with 31 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds in 30 minutes of play.

That wasn’t the only record for the Mavs on Saturday, as they hit a franchise-best 24 3-pointers in the win. Five of those came from Doncic.

Doncic nearly had the triple-double at halftime, entering the break with 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

With his ninth triple-double, Doncic also surpassed the eight he had during his rookie season. He has done so in just 27 games played this season.

After an impressive rookie campaign that saw the Mavs star named the NBA Rookie of the Year last season, Doncic’s appears to be on pace make his first All-Star appearance. The Slovenian star entered Saturday’s game averaging 29.1 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.8 assists.

Doncic won the season’s first Western Conference Player of the Month award in November after the 20-year-old became the third player in NBA history to average a 30-point triple-double over any calendar month (minimum 10 games played).

Doncic also recently inked a shoe deal with Jordan Brand.
