Def Jam hasn’t gotten around to giving Irv Gotti that gig he was coveting, but he has still been keeping busy. The Murder Inc. Records founder is producing the debut album of a 14-year-old Pop singer being billed as “the female Justin Bieber.”

According to the New York Post:

Hip-hop executive Irv Gotti is making his return to the music industry by producing an album for 14-year-old pop phenom Maddi Jane. The young musician, who is from Wheaton, Ill., and is home-schooled, is being touted as the female Justin Bieber. Jane, who appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” when she was just 11 and has 200,000 followers on Twitter, is working on her first solo album, to be produced by Gotti and his brother, Chris, who managed such artists as Ja RuleAshantiFat Joe and Vanessa Carlton under their Ink label. Songwriter Claude Kelly, who penned tracks for Britney Spears andKelly Clarkson, is also collaborating on Jane’s album.

Gotti, born Irving Lorenzo, producing Pop tunes isn’t a reach. Besides Ja Rule and Ashanti topping the charts under his guidance, the Queens native also co-produced Vanessa Carlton’s Heroes & Thieves album, which released on Gott’s The Inc. Records.

Late last year, rumors were bubbling that Gotti was going to partner with music executive Lyor Cohen’s management firm while making a run at handling the music career of Drake.
