Pflugerville Man Accused Of Pointing Loaded Rifle At 3 People

Daniel Boren, 42, faces 20 years' imprisonment after being charged with pointing rifle modified to fire 60 rounds at group of people.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX A Pflugerville man was recently charged with pointing a loaded rifle modified to fire up to 60 rounds at a time at a group of people in Georgetown over the weekend, according to an arrest affidavit.

Daniel Boren, 42, has since been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the Austin American-Statesman reporting, referencing the affidavit. Witnesses in the recent case told police Boren hit their vehicles while traveling along Texas 45 on Sunday, according to the affidavit, prompting them to follow him to East View High School at 4490 E. University Ave., the affidavit continues.

According to the report, Boren exited his parked vehicle and approached the victims with a rifle in hand. The victims told police he pointed the firearm at them while they were still inside their car, the affidavit detailed. A sheriff's deputy spotted the rifle in the seat of Boren's truck, noticing it had a 60=round drum affixed to it loaded with one round in the chamber, according to the affidavit. Three magazines also were found inside the truck, according to the report.

Boren subsequently was arrested and booked into the Williamson County Jail, and now faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted on the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was released from jail on Monday after posting bond on a $25,000 bail.
