In the same way that Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen forged a natural fashion alliance, it appears that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has found just the right style collaborator in Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy. For today’s appearance to open the Mersey Gateway Bridge in Cheshire alongside Queen Elizabeth, the Duchess of Sussex chose a cream, caped dress by the French fashion house.

This latest look falls well within the new royal’s wheelhouse. The silhouette recalls the midnight blue Stella McCartney that the Duchess wore in April to the Queen’s birthday celebrations at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The color, a subtle shade of oatmeal, also appears to becoming a signature shade for the Duchess. The week after her wedding, the Duchess donned a frock from Goat in the neutral color for her first official engagement alongside Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Harry. Finishing touches were also provided by Keller—a thin belt and a micro zip clutch, while Sarah Flint stilettos gave the look with a leg-lengthening effect. But not to be outdone was Her Majesty, who again opted for lime green—she wore a Angela Kelly ensemble in a similar shade for the royal wedding—from top to toe.
