Couple missing after they got lost driving to Trenton has been found

UPDATE: The couple has been found and is safe, Lumberton police said Monday.

Two people are missing after they got lost driving to Trenton Saturday.

Artice and Shirley Mooney, of Lumberton, were headed to a conference in Trenton Saturday morning, according to the Lumberton Police Department. They ended up in Hopatcong, about an hour and a half north of Trenton, where a police officer spoke to them and gave them directions back home to Lumberton.

As of Sunday, they had not returned home.

The couple was driving a 2015 white Kia, which was last spotted in Newark around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Anyone who sees the couple is asked to contact Lumberton police at 609-267-8300.
