A teenager was killed in a two-vehicle crash in rural Fayette County on Tuesday afternoon.

The Fayette County Sheriff's office received multiple reports of an accident between a semi-wrecker and a car at around 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered the driver of the car, Thomas Rolison, Jr., 18, of Waucoma, had sustained serious injuries and was trapped in the vehicle. He was mechanically removed from the car and flown to a hospital in La Crosse, Wis., where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators determined that the car had entered the intersection at 230th St. near W Ave. and collided with the wrecker. Photos from the scene show the truck hit the drivers side of the car, causing significant damage.

The driver of the wrecker, John Rasmusson, 32, of Cedar Falls, was uninjured in the crash. His vehicle also sustained damage.

The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
