Driver Seriously Injured In Sandy Springs Accident

The single-vehicle accident occurred Thursday afternoon on the Glenridge Connector near Meridian Mark Road.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The driver of a vehicle was transported to an area hospital for treatment after a single vehicle crash reported Thursday in Sandy Springs.

The accident happened on the Glenridge Connector near Meridian Mark Road.

Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Sam Worsham said the driver suffered serious, "possibly life-threatening" injuries. No other details about the collision have been released.

Thursday's accident is the second single-vehicle crash involving injuries reported within the last week in Sandy Springs. On Oct. 4, the driver of an Acura passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound near the Arts Center at 254 Johnson Ferry Road when the car left the roadway and struck an embankment, Sandy Springs police previously told Patch.

That collision caused the car to go airborne, overturn and come to a rest on its roof in front of the arts center. The driver was transported to the hospital to be treated for moderate injuries stemming from the collision.
