Aptos Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder: SCCSO

Deputies are investigating the fatal shooting and stabbing reported in Aptos Wednesday.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A 61-year-old Aptos woman who was shot and killed on Thursday afternoon in unincorporated Santa Cruz County has been identified as Victoria May Aless Seidlinger. Patrick Collins, 36, was arrested on suspicion of murder after her death at a home in the 3100 block of Trout Gulch Road, sheriff's Sgt. Dee Baldwin said.

The homicide was reported at about 4:15 p.m., and deputies responded to find Seidlinger dead and two other suffering from serious injuries. An investigation found two people fired a weapon during the event, and all three people lived at the same address. There are no outstanding suspects, deputies said.

Collins was booked into Santa Cruz County jail Thursday on suspicion of first-degree murder after being hospitalized for a gunshot wound and his bail is set at $750,000. An investigation into the homicide is ongoing.
