According to White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, the United States “looks forward to participating in the Winter Olympics in South Korea.”
Wednesday night, Martha MacCallum with FOX news tweeted that Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, was unsure if athletes should be sent to South Korea, due to the “North Korea situation.”

“The protection of Americans is our top priority and we are engaged with the South Koreans and other partner nations to secure the venues,” Sanders tweeted Thursday afternoon.

The 2018 Winter Olympics will be held in PyeongChang, South Korea.
