Dr. Edward Keller, 91, from Dickinson, ND passed away on November 11 in Minneapolis MN. Funeral services will be held at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Anoka, MN on November 19, 2018 at 11:00am with visitation starting one hour prior. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling Cemetery in St. Paul, MN, on November 20, 2018 at 10:00am. Ed was born May 10, 1927 in Strasburg, ND to Frank and Helen Keller. At age 14 he left ND for Brunnerdale Seminary HS in Canton, Ohio. After graduation he was drafted in to the Army, after which he attended St. Thomas College in St. Paul, MN and Marquette University Dental School in Milwaukee WI. In 1955 he married Shirley Maloney, a nurse graduate from Milwaukee County in Milwaukee WI, and moved to Dickinson, ND. He practiced dentistry for 41 years and retired to a second career of writing and publishing books focused on his ancestors migration from Germany to Russia to North Dakota. Most believe dentistry was his livelihood but writing was his life. He was an ardent member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, he built the first free-standing dental office in Dickinson, was passionate about golf, and tirelessly promoted education at all levels. Ed is proud that his and Shirley's 7 children have college degrees. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Wilma Hagel and Mary Mattern, and brothers Frank Keller and Debert Keller. He is survived by wife Shirley, 7 children (Ed, Ann, John, Mary, Tom, Joe, Paul) and their spouses, 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, sister Eleanor Maloney and brother Bill Keller.
