Bellator 180: “Sonnen vs. Silva” is the summer sizzler that’s heading to a legendary sports mecca called Madison Square Garden on June 24, 2017. The pay-per-view (PPV) event will be headlined by a fight years in the making as former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rivals Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva finally settle their war of words with a war of fists.

Before that epic throwdown occurs, popular MMA fighter-turned podcaster Brendan Schaub will step in to hype the festivities a little bit more.

Bellator MMA has revealed that Schaub will be an official co-host of the Bellator 180 “pre-game show” that will air live on Spike TV at 8 p.m. ET/5 PT on fight night. Schaub will join Jenn Brown in the broadcast booth to offer his analysis of both the upcoming fights aired free on Spike and the fireworks later that evening exclusive to PPV.

Schaub amassed a fair to above average record during his fight career, finishing at 10-5 with a loss to Travis Browne at UFC 181, but he does hold a career win over fellow The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) veteran and current Bellator fighter, Matt Mitrione. Schaub submitted “Meathead” with a d’arce choke at UFC 165. Good news for Schaub, though — Mitrione will be too busy with Fedor Emelianenko to try and avenge the loss that weekend.
