“Saturday Night Live” alum Colin Quinn may have almost lost his life after a Valentine’s Day heart attack, but he certainly hasn’t lost his sense of humor.
Quinn, 58, took to Twitter Monday to thank his fans and friends for their words of support, and jokingly call out those who hadn’t reached out.
“Thanks for all the kind words and support. Starting a list of those who didn’t ‘check in’ yet. Guarantee they’ll regret the day they didn’t wish me well on the road to recovery,” he wrote.
“A heart attack is a serious thing. When it happens to a celeb let’s double the importance. I understand some people wish me dead, it’s human. I feel that way about plenty of people myself. But there’s ways of doing things. ‘Keep up appearances’ as they say.”
Quinn also thanked the staff at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan for saving “a great man’s life.”
“They realized they had a precious jewel of comedy in their hands and they responded like a 47th st Hasidic appraiser with a mamezitser,” he joked.
The “Trainwreck” star revealed Wednesday on Twitter that he had suffered a heart attack.
“My heart broke on Valentines Day. Literally. I am currently doing well although if I dropped dead you would see a funeral like al Capone!” he wrote. “I guess this heart attack has really made me reflect. You know, we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow, or u really think about it.”
Quinn’s health scare was met with messages of support from fellow comedians like Norm Macdonald, Jim Norton and John Mulaney.
“I really love @iamcolinquinn and I think about his jokes every day (including almost every word from New York Story) and I am glad he is okay and I will never say this to his face,” Mulaney wrote on Twitter Thursday.
