BBQ and Brews Festival Kicks Off Saturday

The first-ever festival organized by ForCanton will be held on Saturday, April 30.

CANTON, GA -- If you're a fan of barbecue, good beer and giving back to the community, then you don't want to miss Canton's first-ever BBQ & Brews Festival.

The event will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 30 along Main Street in downtown.

Admission is $5 per person, and children 10 and under will get into the festival for free. Music acts slated to perform include Alex Guthrie, Battlefield Collective, Sailing To Denver and The Howling Tongues.

Festival activities include a barbecue competition sanction by the Georgia Barbecue Association, corn hole free play and tournament organized by Cornhole ATL and a children's play area. Breweries represented at the festival include Reformation Brewery, Lazy Magnolia Brewery, Red Hare Brewing Company, Monday Night Brewing, Jekyll Brewing, Dry County Brewing Company, New Belgium Brewing and Blue Point Brewery.

The festival is organized and hosted by ForCanton, a nonprofit organization affiliated with Action Church taksed with fighting hunger, homelessness and poverty in the city. All proceeds from the event will go towards the organization's initiatives, such as a clothing closet, food pantry and other services such as a school supply drive, warming shelter and providing Thanksgiving meals to residents in need.
