Standfordville Man Accused Of Burglarizing Home, Threatening To Kill Victim
Police took him into custody after a traffic stop.
STANFORDVILLE, NY — A Dutchess County man was arrested because police said he burglarized a home in Columbia County.
Adrien G. Cadwallader, 36, of Stanfordville faces the following charges:
- First-degree burglary, a felony
- Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony
- Second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor
- Fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor
State Police were dispatched by Columbia County 911 around 10:30 a.m. March 19 to investigate a possible criminal mischief complaint that occurred on Route 9 in Livingston.

Troopers arrived on the scene and interviewed the victim who said that Cadwallader, who she knew, had unlawfully entered her home by means of forcible entry.
He then allegedly threatened to kill her with a utility knife before fleeing the scene.

Cadwallader was taken into custody by Troopers from the Poughkeepsie barracks after they executed a traffic stop on his vehicle which was traveling on Hunns Lake Road in Stanfordville.
He was arraigned in the Town of Livingston Court and sent to the Columbiz County Jail without bail.
Cadwallader is scheduled to return to court on March 23.
