HYDERABAD: A case of attempt to murder was registered against four people, which includes two staff members of Mount Carmel High School, Miryalguda in Nalgonda district, for allegedly thrashing three tribal community students studying in the same school on Thursday night.
Miryalguda II Town police said that around 12 am on Friday, a Class 9 student and two Class 10 students of Mount Carmel High School were told to come out of their boarding premises by the school correspondent Saleem and his cousin Fayaz, who is also a teacher in the same school.
After they came out, Fayaz, with the help of two of his friends, thrashed the three students with a tree branch.
The incident occurred at an isolated area near the school, where they were gagged with a cloth while being thrashed. The students sustained injuries on their back.
During investigation, police discovered that the two Class 10 students were eve-teasing a girl student of the school who also happens to be Saleem’s daughter.
On getting to know about this, the three students were called outside the boarding premises and thrashed. When the students informed their parents about the incident on Friday, the parents reached the school premises. After the parents observed that they were badly bruised, they approached the Miryalguda II Town police, who registered a case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC and SC&ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Saleem, Fayaz and two others were taken into custody.
“The students have been admitted to a hospital and are undergoing treatment. All three injured boys are tribals and the school in which they were studying is a private institution,” Miryalguda II Town inspector Srinivas Reddy said.
