Another episode of snow, sleet and freezing is expected to make its debut Wednesday morning in southeast Michigan.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday for Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe counties. According to the advisory, snowfall is expected to begin Wednesday morning with an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches predicted. The period of snow is expected to transition to sleet and freezing rain into the afternoon with rain showers after 4 p.m. Up to a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is forecast.

"Snow will produce limited visibility and create hazardous road conditions this morning. Untreated roads ill likely remain slippery this afternoon, with dirt/gravel roads even remaining icy after temperatures rise slightly above freezing late today," the advisory states.

Temperatures in the Detroit metro area are expected top out around 36 degrees, but later drop into the low 30s in the evening. In addition, wind speed is predicted to be 10 to 15 mph in the morning and increase to 13 to 17 mph in the afternoon.

In Grand Rapids, a winter weather advisory is effective until 10 p.m. Wednesday. An inch of snow accumulation is expected with one-tenth of an inch of ice.
