Pittsburgh Penguins troll Henrik Lundqvist after meltdown

New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, usually a calm and collected presence in net, went a little nuts Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

After getting knocked down by defenseman Ryan McDonagh and losing his stick, an agitated Lundqvist tried to get the attention of referees to stop play. When that didn’t work, Lundqvist took matters into his own hands and knocked the net over to force a whistle.

Lundqvist got a two-minute minor delay of game penalty for his outburst, but the Penguins weren’t going to let it go.

After the game, Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, who was feeling pretty good after their 4-1 win, didn’t hesitate to call Lundqvist out on his behavior.

“I think that’s baby stuff,” goalie Marc-Andre Fleury said. “I get mad. I get disturbed. I’ll smash my stick, but I wouldn’t push the net over and stop play and get a penalty.”

The Penguins Twitter feed also got in on the fun and tweeted out a gif of their star netminder.

Dang, Pens.
