Stars celebrate Christian Bale after Critics Choice Awards

Power producer Jerry Bruckheimer and wife Linda threw what wound up being the hottest after-party of the Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday night at their Beverly Hills, Calif., home.

Spies said the Bruckheimers happened to be hosting a hot screening and reception for Christian Bale’s film “Hostiles,” directed by Scott Cooper, the same night as the awards. That attracted stars such as winners Margot Robbie — who arrived with her entire “I, Tonya” team — and Kumail Nanjiani, who came with wife and co-writer Emily Gordon and “Knocked Up” director Judd Apatow.

Spies said actor’s actor Bale — who had packed on the pounds to physically transform himself into Dick Cheney for the upcoming film “Backseat” — has already begun dramatically shedding the jowl-dropping weight.

“He is 25 pounds lighter,” said an impressed source. “He really [transformed] for the role and he’s halfway back.” Bale was overheard explaining the most he has weighed in a film was 230 pounds and the least was 130.

Also at the bash were Allison Janney, “Call Me by Your Name” stars Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer and director Luca Guadagnino, “The Florida Project” star Willem Dafoe and “Wizard of Lies” director Barry Levinson.

While moderating a Q&A with Bale and Cooper, Bruckheimer revealed that he discovered Chalamet, 22 — the Hollywood It boy who also stars in “Hostiles” and “Lady Bird” — when he was just 15.

The “Top Gun”producer had picked him for a TV pilot.

Bruckheimer is next headed to New York for a Tuesday premiere of his latest film, “12 Strong,” at Lincoln Center. The film follows the declassified true story of the American “horse soldiers” who were deployed to Afghanistan after 9/11.

We hear that Bruckheimer is first stopping in Pittsburgh for the Steelers NFL playoff game on Sunday, and he invited “12 Strong” star Chris Hemsworth to go with him. At the “Hostiles” event, he also invited Robbie, an amateur hockey player, to join him on the ice. Bruckheimer is known for hosting a regular VIP game in LA, and has been part of a push to bring an NHL team to Seattle.
