MINSK, 13 August (BelTA) – Modern nuclear physics technologies will be discussed by scientists during the international conference on microworld physics problems in Grodno District, the press service of the Belarusian State University told BelTA.
The conference is scheduled to take place in the agrotown of Ozery on 13-23 August. The conference is viewed as Belarus' leading venue for discussing modern aspects of elementary particle physics, theoretical physics, and modern nuclear physics technologies.
The conference is expected to gather over 130 scientists and researchers representing leading research institutions of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Czechia, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Serbia, the USA, France, China, and other countries.
This year's conference is dedicated to the memory of Professor Nikolai Shumeiko, who has contributed a lot to high-energy physics in Belarus and has revived the tradition of organizing such conferences in the country.
The first conference of the kind took place in 1971. It has been held every two years since then. Many participants have become prominent scientists and heads of major research teams.
The international conference is organized by the Nuclear Problems Institute of the Belarusian State University in association with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Russia) and the State Science and Technology Committee (Belarus).
