12 bathrooms and a 24-car garage... Inside the extravagant Beverly Hills mansion of late Iranian fashion designer Bijan Pakzad

The Beverly Hills home of flamboyant fashion mogul Bijan Pakzad, who died last year, is being put on the market for $12million.

Known as 'Bijan,' the Iranian menswear designer was famous for his exclusive Beverly Hills boutique, 'the most expensive store in the world,' his extravagant car collection, and 12,000 square foot mansion.

The Tuscan-style villa features six bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, seven fireplaces, and a large-scale garage to park nearly 24 cars, with a guesthouse, pool and spa on the one acre property.

Built in 1993, the gaudy mansion also includes a $200,000 chandelier made entirely of Bijan perfume bottles, large Persian rugs, and bright colourful walls with yellow, red, orange and green rooms.

The walls of his store were also painted a sunny shade of yellow - a Bijan signature.

The late designer bought the Beverly Hills house from Mexican singer Luis Miguel in 2002 for under $7million.

Born in Iran, Mr Pakzad migrated to Los Angeles in 1973, and set up his namesake boutique on Rodeo Drive three years later.

The store has carried extravagant luxuries such as a $15,000 vicuna coat, a $120,000 chinchilla bedspread and a $65,000 crocodile-trimmed luggage set.

Much like his house, the decor of the store was also over the top, with $500,000 worth of Persian rugs, a $400,000 Lucite-and-brass staircase and a $75,000 chandelier.

According to the 2001 Los Angeles Times Calendar Section, the Bijan Perfume and Fashion Business brought in an estimated $3.2billion in sales worldwide.

He unabashedly promoted the opulence of his glamorous life, his stores and his clientele during his years in America.

He starred in his own advertisements, appearing on billboards and in magazines beside celebrity clients like Bo Derek and Michael Jordan, and often posed provocatively - in one campaign, a model who slapped his face and, in the caption, called him a chauvinist.

According to TMZ, realtors Brenda Chandler and David Kramer have the flamoyant listing, and explained that like Bijan's Rodeo drive boutique, only qualified buyers will be admitted to view the property.
