Man Arrested After Posting Photos Of Stolen Items On Snapchat

A 23-year-old Zephyrhills man was arrested after he posted photos of stolen rifles and other items on the social media site, Snapchat.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL -- A 23-year-old Zephyrhills man was arrested after he posted photos of stolen rifles and other items on the social media site, Snapchat.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Steven Allen Jeffcoat of Studio Drive is accused of breaking into a residence on Lynbrook Drive in Zephyrhills and stealing a Seiko watch, valued at $500, two rifles, valued at $302 and $520, and a crossbow, valued at $350.

Deputies say it was easy to trace the stolen items. Less than four hours after the break-in, Jeffcoat posted photos of himself on Snapchat shooting one of the rifles and posing with the other stolen items.

Detectives were also able to match a footprint from the crime scene to a shoe worn by Jeffcoat.

Jeffcoat was arrested Saturday, Feb. 9, after trying to skip town. Because he is a convicted felon and posed a flight risk, Bond was set at $100,000.
