There will be plenty of position battles when the Bills begin training camp on July 26.

But, let’s be honest:  We’re all going to be focused, transfixed and over analyze every rep and throw Josh Allen, Nathan Peterman and AJ McCarron take and make until Sean McDermott names a starter.

This weekend McCarron was back home hosting a youth football camp in Mobile, Alabama, throwing touchdowns to kids.

“It’s a blessing, you know, something you dream about when you’re young, to be able to make it to the NFL and then be able to come back and give back to the community that helped raised you,” he said.  “love giving back to my city, I’ve always been about everything about my city.”

He hopes to do with the same with the Bills when the regular season rolls around and said he’s excited for the opportunity to compete for the starting job after spending the last four years as a backup in Cincinnati.

“Just trying to get used to it all at OTAs after running the same offense for four years,” McCarron said.  “You might have the same plays, but it’s called different or the read is different. So, it’s just getting used to it.  I’ve been working with my QB coach, David Morris at QB Country, and going over the offense day in and day out, and I feel really, really good about it.”

The Bills report to St. John Fisher on July 25 with the first day of camp set to begin on Thursday, July 26.
