Stetsonville woman chosen as fairest of fair

Melissa Ploeckelman, 21, of Stetsonville, an agriculture education major at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, has been named fairest of the fair for 2009.

Ploeckelman, who competed as the representative of the Wisconsin Valley Fair in Marathon County, will travel to county and district fairs throughout the state as spokeswoman for the Wisconsin Association of Fairs. She also will serve as the official hostess of the 2009 Wisconsin State Fair.

Laura Lauderdale, 20, of Walworth County was named first runner-up.
