RECALL ALERT: Vanilla Almond Breeze Product May Contain Milk

The milk-tainted Almond Breeze product was sold in 28 states, including NC, and poses a risk for those with milk allergies, the FDA said.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Vanilla Almond Milk is being pulled due to possibility the product contains milk, the Food and Drug Administration said Friday. The cartons, which could potentially pose a risk for consumers with milk allergies, were sold in 28 states, including North Carolina.

Why the recall? Anyone who has an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk runs the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products, according to the Federal Food & Drug Administration.

The recall only applies to cartons of refrigerated Vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk with a use-by date of Sept. 2. The cartons are safe to drink if you don't have a milk allergy, according to the FDA.
