NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Police said they have arrested a man in connection to a 2014 homicide in Newport News.
Last Friday, police obtained charges against 34-year-old Calvon Whitehead of Las Vegas. Whitehead was charged in the death of Katrice Major back on May 10, 2014, in the 2200 block of Jefferson Avenue.
Whitehead was arrested in Las Vegas just after midnight local time on Monday. He is awaiting extradition to Newport News.
Whitehead is charged with first-degree murder, robbery, four counts of abduction, seven counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, malicious wounding, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
