Aisha Tyler will be on CBS both days and nights starting this fall.

"The Talk" co-host is joining the cast of "Criminal Minds" for its upcoming season in the recurring role of Dr. Tara Lewis, a psychologist specializing in forensic psychology and how it can best be used by the criminal justice system, according to Entertainment Weekly.

“Her dream was to study psychopaths up close and personal—and her psychology background, combined with her experience in the FBI, brought her face to face with monsters,” reported Entertainment Weekly about Tyler’s new character. “Her job was to stare them down and interview them, in order to determine if they were fit to stand trial. In the process, she made herself find the humanity inside these broken men (and, sometimes, women) in order to learn if there was a conscience behind their brutal crimes.”

Tyler joins the "Criminal Minds" cast following the departure of Jennifer Love Hewitt and the temporary absence of A.J. Cook, who will be on maternity leave for roughly five episodes.

In addition to "Criminal Minds" and "The Talk," 44-year-old Tyler also hosts The CW's "Whose Line is it Anyway?" and voices Lana Anthony Kane on FX’s "Archer."

“Oh lordy so exciting,” said Tyler as she announced her new gig on Twitter.

“I’m really excited about it,” said a glowing Tyler on "The Talk." “I don’t know, actually, what’s going to happen.”

"Criminal Minds" returns for its 11th season Wednesday, Sept. 30, according to TVGuide.com.
