Not only struggling with living in the spotlight, it was around this time Kasey married fellow musician Shane Nicholson (who she later split from in 2013), and that combined with the pressure of being mum to son Talon, four, from a previous marriage, saw her become fixated on controlling certain aspects of her life.

“I wouldn’t look in the mirror and see someone really fat,” the Not Pretty Enough singer revealed.

“I didn’t want to look in the mirror. It wasn’t an image thing for me... It wasn’t ‘Oh I look fat in photos’. It was more about the control thing.”

While Kasey remained in denial about her disorder, family and friends soon urged the singer to seek help.

"I think a lot of that actually was me not allowing myself to kind of break down every now and then," she explains.
