G.O.O.D. Music‘s 2 Chainz has provided fans with an update on Kanye West‘s Cruel Winter album.
In a new interview, Chainz revealed the compilation project is still being worked on.
“I went up to work with those guys a couple of months ago. Everything is coming along. That’s the thing—it’s ‘Ye’s project. Obviously I’m with G.O.O.D. music, but who knows? “Champions” is a record that I did a while ago, and just like a lot of these records, when they come out I’m eager to hear the changes in the level of greatness—it always steps up. You think a record is already on a certain level, but bruh just put his jumper cables [on it]. For the most part I don’t know where he is with finishing it, but I did do some more work on it.” (Complex)
A few months ago, Kanye released the project’s first official single, “Champions.”
The “Champions” are here. After making its radio debut earlier this month, the lead single off G.O.O.D. Music’s upcoming Cruel Winter album has officially hit iTunes, Spotify, TIDAL, and other digital platforms. The track, which premiered on Real 92.3, features a star-studded lineup, including Kanye West, Gucci Mane, Desiigner, Quavo, Travis Scott, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, and Yo Gotti. (Rap-Up)
Ex-G.O.O.D. Music member Kid Cudi recently said he would not appear on the new album.
In early June, Kanye talked about the upcoming release and putting out a “Champions” single remix.
“We also gonna do a a 12 to 15-minute version with every G.O.O.D. Music artist on it,” Ye said referring to “Champions.” “Sometimes you have snippets, ideas, beats. You got like a solid seven, eight songs that we know is gonna make the [Cruel Winter] album and the others ones [are like] a beat from Mike WiLL [Made It] or Travi$ [Scott] just brought three songs through … We sit there and we work together on our stuff.
